This past week is a testament that healing is never over, it just continues to blossom if pushed. As I said in one of the posts this week, I wasn’t sure that writing about grief was something I should do. Sooo I went back to my Rules of Living (totally self-made…) & went with, the idea came to me for a reason. It is meant to be. My intention was to share some of my experiences with grieving, hoping it would be directed to a “Me 8 Yrs Ago” person or friend of that person. Hopefully that did happen but what was totally surprising to me was by me sharing things I thought I never would voice, it opened my heart up just a little bit more.
I have had a lot of awesome messages from friends & family on Blog & appreciate that more than you know. Thank you.
K, here’s a short story that hopefully warms your heart cuz it sure does mine.
First of all my son’s name is Michael…when I named him I knew there was an Archangel (high-ranking angel…booya) named Michael (at the end of the Blog I copied the duties of Michael The Archangel…too cool for school I say) but I didn’t know in Hebrew it meant “Who is like God”…cool. Some days when he was with me I wouldn’t have quoted that, haha Him & I could sometimes be like oil & water. Mother & Son are made from the same cloth I believe.
When I went through my son’s person possessions I found a wedding band. I can guess who this was for but as with a lot of things in life…sometimes things don’t go as you planned. I believe this worked out exactly as it was intended as they were way better friends than life long companions. Back to the ring….I put it on 8 years ago & I have never taken it off. Another coping stategy….a piece of him is always with me. Sometimes it feels warm & I turn it. Makes me feel whole…I say whatever it takes to get you from one day to the next.
